Frienship Club Kick-Off Meeting - Come Join Us!

Are you a teenager who is looking to have fun and make a difference in the community at the same time?  Are you ready to build friendships that will last a lifetime?  If so, you may want to consider becoming a volunteer for the EB Chabad Friendship Club. What is the Friendship Club? Through the friendship club, teens will have the opportunity to enhance the lives of special needs children by enhancing their lives with friendship and fun. As a teen volunteer you will be paired up with a child who has special needs. Beginning the very first day, both you and your friend will begin developing a relationship through play, learning and special programs. Teens will have the chance to hang out in our new, interactive teen lounge and attend exclusive trips, activities and events. Through developing a bond with your special friend you will learn the power of unconditional love and acceptance. It’s been said that nothing makes children feel better about themselves than spending time with friends who truly care about them. In addition to making an impact on a child, a volunteer will see the impact their work makes on themselves. By helping others, the volunteers help themselves feel more fulfilled, self confident, and comfortable in their own skin. The volunteer's commitment and willingness to give of their time reminds us that today's men and women, young and old, are caring, compassionate, and dedicated to making a difference in every child and adult they encounter. Also, for college bound teens, this is a great opportunity to provide community service.

On November 7, 2010 from 3: 45 – 5:30 p.m., we will be hosting a Friendship Club Kickoff Event at the EB Teen Lounge in our new location at 3 Lexington Avenue (Lexington Downs Shopping Center).  All teens are invited to join us at this special event where they will have the opportunity to create their own personal pizza pie, hosted by Italian head chef and CEO, Steve of Stefano’s pizza.  Following will be an informational/training session fully detailing what our Friendship Club involves, as well as the chance to sign on as a volunteer.
